I have been a makeup artist for years, serving clients and the industry as "Faces by KariLu." When I partnered with PIVOT Media, I felt it was time to rebrand my makeup services as well; I have rebranded myself as "Karina's Lip Service."

Prior to sitting in my chair, you and I will have a phone consultation where we discuss all the fun details for your upcoming session with me. Shortly after, you will be receiving a link to a questionnaire that helps me better understand your face and the desired look. As a woman myself, I fully understand the anxiety one feels by trusting a stranger with, not just their time and money but, their overall image! Please know, I do not take this privilege lightly.
I pay full attention to you in order to
understand your expectations, avoid any miscommunications and to be best prepared
for your special time in my beauty chair.

You would have already been prepped by me and given address and directions for my studio in North Hollywood, Ca.
MOBILE CLIENTS:
We've also already spoken at length and you've provided me with all the details and time as to where I will be traveling to meet you for your convenience.
I often get asked, why does makeup artist's pricing vary from artist to artist. Well, for just that reason; art is subjective and every artist has a unique set of skills and experiences; some being more versed than others. It's up to you to not only research pricing, but also, find an artist who's "art" speaks to you. I personally pride myself on my ability to enhance my client's natural beauty.
That said, I strive to offer the highest quality service at a fair market price while still giving honor to the 9 years of experience I have obtained while serving the film and tv industry, red carpet talents and the everyday strong beauties whose face my brushes grace.
In order to secure the date / time of your desired appointment, a deposit (50% of total services to be rendered) is required,
NO EXCEPTIONS. Once your deposit is accepted, this will be considered "a booking."
When a booking is accepted and confirmed, my calendar is then blocked out for that specified date and time, thereby, making me unavailable to accept any other clients or generate any other income during that time.
NON-REFUNDABLE DEPOSIT:
The deposit is non-refundable and used to compensate for my time in the event that your booking is cancelled - for any reason -
last minute, without providing at least 72 hour notice (3 calendar days), and/or results
in a client "no-show."
Now, I do understand “life happens.” In the event, you have a last minute urgency, please contact me immediately with notice of the changes to your appointment. I will then transfer your deposit and apply it towards another time/date of your choosing, provided that I’m not booked out. I will always do my very best to accommodate your needs.

Late cancellations are a disappointment for everyone- for you, me, and the clients who are trying to get in for a session.
If you need to cancel your appointment, please notify me immediately. If notice is given prior to 72 hours (3 calendar days) of your confirmed booking, you will be entitled to receive your full deposit back to you. You will still be given the option to transfer and apply your deposit towards another time/date of your choosing, provided that I’m not booked out. I will always do my very best to accommodate your needs.
In the very rare event of an extreme emergency, and it is I that needs to cancel
your appointment, you will be immediately sent your deposit. I will then do my very best to assist you with the booking of another trusted and highly recommended artist to cover your event and/or session.
Will not be rescheduled and will be invoiced, or automatically charged, for the remaining balance due on the services to have been rendered.
I understand last minute things come up, which is why there will always be an open line of communication. At any time of day or night, feel free to email and/or text in the event of an emergency.
No call / no shows are a complete disregard of the time and energy I proudly take to prepare the best experience possible with me.
Before even sitting in my beauty chair, I make it a point to fully understand your unique needs and desires so we are on the same page as to your expectations. I even ask you to send visual references of the "look" I will be applying on you; or in some cases, you might even book a make trial (brides, red carpet clients, etc). I am truly committed to your satisfaction.
In the event, you'd like to make some last minute adjustments after I've applied your look, I will take the time to do so, but I must notify you that we will not be able to substantially exceed our allotted makeup time in the event you decide to go a whole different direction from what we originally discussed. Ample time is given for each makeup application upon booking. Acceptance of completed makeup application by client is acknowledgement by client that makeup is done to his/her satisfaction.
I work out of my makeup studio in North Hollywood, Ca 91601. No traveling fees are applied for makeup trials/services held here.
If a client prefers I travel to them, a $1.00
per mile travel fee (round trip) will be applied
for locations between 10 and 60 miles of my studio in North Hollywood, Ca to compensate for time, gas, mileage.
*If your location is more than 60 miles away, there will be an additional charge.
*This travel fee is waived when three (3) or more makeovers take place at that one location on that specified day.
*For events with multiple locations:
One half of the hourly rate is charged per
hour of travel from place of hire.
OUT OF STATE CLIENTS:
For out of state or area bookings, please contact me directly with all details for accurate pricing. Hotel/travel accommodations are required.
Please contact me directly for the traveling fee for on-site services.
All brushes and makeup products are kept sanitary and are sanitized between EVERY makeup application.
Makeup products used are hypoallergenic.
The "new client intake" questionnaire I initially send out, is a great place to make me aware, prior to your session, of any skin conditions and/or allergies that you might experience. If need be, a sample test of makeup may need to be performed on the skin to test reaction.
Client(s) agree to release the makeup artist (Karina Luna) from liability for any skin complications due to allergic reactions.
If booked over the phone, please be aware of my policies as they are strictly enforced.
By booking Karina Luna, clients are aware of her policies.
If you allow me to take image(s) and/or video(s) of my work, then with your consent, I may use that content on my website – and / or in any marketing method with the strict intention of promoting my services; including, but not limited to: a brochure, flyer, social media platforms, etc.
Client(s) agree to release any and all claims regarding use of his / her image for such purposes. Client(s) also agrees to release name and contact information of professional photographers and / or videographers used for recording any event for which the makeup artist has been contracted to do makeup. Client(s) agree to release to Karina Luna's use of said photographers / videographer’s photographs and recordings.
